Aftercare for clients

Tattoo Aftercare

Thank you for getting tattooed at Lucid Dream Tattoo we hope you love your new piece.

We at Lucid Dream Tattoo recommend a simple, natural, yet efficient healing process.

When you leave, most of your tattoo's health will rely and depend on the level of care you give your piece afterwards!

You will LEAVE YOUR APPOINTMENT with a dressing consisting of Vaseline and wrapping to protect your tattoo in the initial hours. In this time, we recommend limiting physical mobility and overall movement in the area to make sure the dressing stays over the tattoo until the morning after.

IN THE MORNING after your tattoo, remove the dressing in a clean environment such as a clean shower or sink and use a calm, UNSCENTED skin soap to gently massage circles over the tattoo surface, to remove any excess inks/blood from the area and then FULLY RINSE away with water. Then use a clean towel or new paper towel to pat dry away the rest of the area.

DO NOT APPLY ANY CREAM FOR AT LEAST THE FIRST 36 HOURS and ONLY repeat the cleaning process with soap a couple times daily or as needed if the piece comes in contact with a dirty surface.

To avoid irritation and possible infection..
NO SUBMERGING A NEW TATTOO WITHIN THE FIRST 2 WEEKS
NO SCENTED PRODUCTS OR ANY OIL-BASED PRODUCTS (Polysporin, essential oils, etc.)

IF YOU LIVE WITH PETS, we recommend changing bed sheets and avoiding contact between fresh tattoo and pet hair and always making a conscious effort to not have your new tattoo contacting dirty surfaces, and cleaning directly after if such does occur.

48 HOURS after your tattoo the skin should be starting to dry up, we recommend starting to use any common drugstore UNSCENTED moisturizer such as Lubriderm, Curel, or Aveeno a COUPLE times daily. There is such a thing as over moisturizing. Continue to moisturize your piece over the next 4-6 weeks until fully healed!

In sensitive skin types tattoos can take up to months to fully heal so be patient, be clean, and enjoy your new tattoo! :)
